A beginner’s aerial fitness class to get you used to being in the air as well as develop upper body strength and a strong core. Using the hammocks, this class consists of foundational conditioning exercises including repetitions in tuck, pike, needle and straddle, how to get your first pull up, ‘death by plank’, inverting and lots more.
An improvers aerial HIIT class to develop the upper body strength plus the stamina that you need for aerial. This class consists of 1 min circuit blasts on different pieces of aerial apparatus (hoops, silks and hammocks). You must have done Aerial Taster first so that you know how to climb, invert and get on and off a hoop.
An advanced aerial fitness class to turn you into an aerial badass! It’s everything you love in Aerial Fit but now we do it all in the air. Exercises such as ‘pull up like a pro’, ‘straddle like a mofo’, ninja inverts, meat hook progressions, and lots more crazy killer combos. You must have mastered Aerial Fit to attend this class.
AERIAL YOGA FLOW
A beginners aerial yoga class to help develop flexibility beyond what traditional yoga provides. We practice linking breath with movement and fuse aerial yoga poses with the hammocks. Starting with hip and hamstring openers followed by postures for your splits, side splits and back bends ending with a short inversion sequence and relaxation.
This class combines ballet technique alongside fitness exercises, so not only will you get a fitter stronger core but you will also be working on improving those oh so important lines that are crucial to make your aerial shapes look awesome. Great for all our aerialist who are learning hoops and silks or if you just want a little bit of grace in your fitness moves!
A class that combines ballet technique and simple aerial silks choreography. It is created for those who feel confident enough on silks to start learning some simple choreography. Julia will work with you to create beautiful transitions and start adding ballet technique to your aerial silks moves. The class will consist of 20 mins of ballet / floor choreography and 30 mins working on silks.
Want to try aerial out before booking a course to see if it’s your cup of tea? Then this is the perfect class for you. 20 mins warm up, 20 mins on silks plus 20 mins on hoop. All levels welcome.
Perfect for practicing all those new found moves. Please buddy up with a training partner unless you feel safe enough for solo practice as there will be no teaching in this class. Just pure play time!
Private sessions are available where the class is tailored to your personal requirements. Perfect if you want to advance quickly or work on specific tricks or routine. Email Astra for availability.
Every 6 months, students can participate in our Skylab showcase to show off what they have learn. The event is free to all Skylab community, friends and family and is a great celebration of student progress (as well as a great excuse to socialise and get close with everyone!)
