All our Aerial Hoop courses last 4 weeks and take place in our friendly (and rather lovely) studio in Camden, central London. We teach all levels from beginners (Level 1) to advance (Level 4) with a student showcase towards the end of your journey.
The aerial hoop course is structured as a block of four classes (one class every week) so you have time to learn, digest and practice all those amazing new moves (while your hands get some rest in between!) and the tricks get progressively harder each week.
Courses are limited to 8 people maximum on Level 1 and 2 to have individual attention from the teacher, you will also be working as 2 people per hoop (all double point for stability and safety). On Level 3 and 4 places are limited to 6 and you will have your own hoop (2 spinning hoops are also available at this time).
Learning aerial silks can be challenging but we like to make things fun, so expect to work hard but have a ton of fun in the process and make some great friends!
Every 6 months we put on a student showcase where beginners can come and be inspired by their fellow advanced students. Students above Level 3 are invited to participate if they so wish.
AERIAL HOOP COURSE CONTENT
Each hoop class consists of a 10 minute warm up, 10 minutes conditioning, 30 minutes on learning tricks and a 10 minute cool down. Each week you will learn about 4 or 5 tricks (depending on the group) to be put together into a short sequence by the end of the class. By the end of the course you will have enough tricks to develop a short routine, which your teacher will put together and then you will perform as a group in the last class.
– Increased strength, flexibility, stamina and co-ordination.
– A repertoire of cool, badass tricks so you can amaze your friends.
– Greater body confidence and self esteem from doing new challenges.
– New friends and a new aerial community.
– Discover that keeping fit can be so much fun!
All our teachers at Skylab Studio in London are currently circus performers in their own right (or have been) as well as having a passion for teaching and sharing their aerial skills. This means you will benefit from first hand knowledge from real aerialists as well as knowing that you are in safe hands when it comes to learning.
No experience is necessary although we do recommend that you do the Aerial Taster class first so that you get an introduction to aerial and have some of the very basics covered. For example how to invert (go upside down) and get on and off a hoop. Please note if you can’t get on and off a hoop comfortably we recommend that you do approx. 1 month of Aerial Fit classes first until you are strong enough to do this. In this way you will not only be more confident in your abilities when you start the course but you will also avoid holding the group up.
Our Aerial Hoop Course costs £80 for four weeks
We also run a special offer for beginners with 20% off (*applicable for new customers only and level 1 course only). Just enter a promo code ‘INTRO20%’ at the check-out.
